Model 7 (early)

History:

The Model 7 appeared in 1917 on the market and was nothing more than an enlarged Model 5, appearently designed as holster-gun and as replacement for the unsuccessful Model 6 in 9 mm Parabellum, which had not been adopted as military-weapon. But instead of just stepping back to the caliber .32 ACP the even smaller caliber .25 ACP was choosen again, which caused also this model to be of no success.
Walther recognized that by time and just one year later in 1918 the production ended again.
Early variatons bear the coarse serration , which was finer at later patterns.
Because of the short production period not many of them have been produced, so therefore this pistol is already scarce today. like with the other models the numbering was done together with other pistols types produced the same time.
