Langenhan Model II

History:

The best known gun of all Langenhan-products is a .32 ACP pistol named "FL-Selbstlader". This pistol was developed at the begin of World War I and adopted by the German army as so-called "Aushilfswaffe" (temporary or auxiliary weapon).
Basically this pistol was of rather common design, but not common was the use of a breechblock as seperated part of the slide connected to it just by a latch. The company fore sure tried to get a patent on the breech-system, but all they got was a registered design-protection under number DRGM 625263 und 633251.
After the war Langenhan reduced the size of this somehow successful model and put it on the civil market around 1918 for civil users, in calibre .25 ACP and named as Model II.
It is unknown, in which quantity this type has been made, but it seems they were not too many and this pistols is kind of rare today.
They also seemed to stay on the market up to 1936/37 together with the other types, even if production ended in 1930. At least they were still offered in some old dealer-catalogues of 1937.
