Jean Henrard started around 1913 with the production of small arms in Herstal/Belgium. He was resident in Rue Emile Muraille 157.
On 20.1.1913 he got a Belgian patent(Nr.253071) for a automatic pistol, which he improved with an additional patent of 14.11.1913 (Nr.261794).
In the year 1914, at the begin of World War 1, the company Henrard J. & Cie was founded, who continued business until 1919. During that era of the German occupation in Belgium gun business was nearly zero.
After the war, in 1920, Jean Henrard joined Alphonse Discry (Rue des Grès, 51-53 à HERSTAL) and the new company "Henrard J. & Discry A." was founded.
Their common goal seemed to be the production and sale of a new pistol, for which they together held a patent (Nr.290562 vom 17.8.1920), which appearently was an improvement of the former pistol from Henrard.
By that time they also had registered the brand name "VICI".
The new company just lasted until 1925, as business was not going well.
