Charles Ph. Clement / Liege

There is not much known about the Company Clement.
At the turn of the century Charles Ph.Clemens was a gunmaker in Liege/Belgium. In 1903 he patented an ingenious automatic pistols, which he redesigned several times within just a few years to different models. Near the end of the short company's history he appearently joined a trade-company and since then marked his pistols with "C. Clement / Neumann Freres". It seems that around 1912, when the last Model 1912 just was ready for production, Clement drew back from his company or died and the company Neumann Freres took over the company together with the patents and the good name. But when the Germans occupied Belgium in World War I the company did not survive and after 1914 Clement pistols were not produced any longer.
